"I think my beard's worried about something.."
"Um, what? That sentence was in no way sensical."
"My beard, I think its apprehensive or worried. It keeps shaking uncontrollably, the same way frightened animals do."
Rory raised an eye-brow, "Are you sure your face muscles aren't just having spasms?"
"No, see that's the odd part: its moving completely independently of my cheeks and chin. I really don't know what's wrong."
Rory gave him a look, "Okay, under the assumption that your beard is like a frightened animal, I have an idea. You're gonna have to trust me on this one" She then stroked his beard, finding that it was indeed quaking, "Shhh, it will be okay, shhhh"
Slowly the beard stopped its shakes and for lack of a better phrase, calmed down.
"Thank you, that's a bit better", He said
"You're welcome, but that was weird, let's not go telling anyone that actually happened."

The Shift
It has been a long quarter. I am ready for break. I am ready for isolation, for a very comfortable bed, for a very happy dog. I am broken, but not beaten. Just need a bit of time to lick my wounds and bring it all back together. I need a shift from stress to relaxation.
Don't let them tell you when the game is over, that's for you to decide.
Swim until you cannot any longer. Let the cold salty waves and warm air hit you. You realize its all a dream, and off you fly into the sky. The moon seems to be as big as a mountain from the clouds. Everything crystallizes; ossifies. The stars shine and sparkle in the sky. Down below is an island dotted with palm trees and white sand. There's a a shipwreck on the island's beach. Unexpectedly there are no people around the shipwreck, but there are penguins. They were the crew, and they are all safe and sound. They waddle across the white sand in the moonlight, watching the waves crash into the beach sweeping some of the shipwreck away into the ocean to become driftwood. From your vantage point in the sky you see the penguins exploring more of the island. A few of them come to a gathering of sleeping swans, but do not disturb them and continue on. Onward they waddle and waddle. They come to a cave, inside there are beds in rows: enough for each and every penguin. They all climb into the beds and drift off to sleep, eager to escape their exhaustion. And as they drift off to sleep they wonder what they'll discover on the island the next day.

Keeping Afloat
The waves are rollicking and romping across the sea here. A smash here, a crash there. Quick men, tighten the ropes! To the Starboard flanks! We're taking on water, prepare to bailout! We are going to make it out of here alive men, as Captain of this ship I swear I will steer us to calmer waters and out of this storm. Krakoom! Oh no! Lightning hit the secondary mast...Now it's on fire! Okay well, this predicament might be more tricky to get out of, but I still have hope. Look there! It seems to be a lighthouse we might just make it!
.....
Would I be a good captain of a boat? I have no idea. Maybe. Perhaps. Well I guess we are each captains of our own lives, and there were a few stormy weeks of stress and busy-ness, then on top of that I have been sick for the past almost two weeks and I am just ready to be done with school for the quarter and go home. That is the truth.
On another note, completely changing the topic Royksopp is pretty awesome. Royksopp is an electronic duo from Sweden that creates some of the funkiest, most awesome, disco tinged beats you will encounter (maybe that's over the top, but I enjoy them). On some tracks they have other artists add vocals for them. check it out.
